The City’s capital improvement program includes several building renovation and maintenance projects that the City anticipates contain Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and Lead. Prior to, and possibly during construction activities, the City will require testing services to determine the presence of lead and ACM. If detected, the City will require monitoring services to ensure proper abatement processes are executed. The City will obtain the services of an abatement contractor independent of these testing and monitoring services. These services will include Clearance Reports of all abatement processes stating the outcome of the process. Consultants are required to have, but not limited to, the following training and/or certifications. Consultants may be called to service at short notice. Asbestos: - State of California, Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CA DOSH) Certified Asbestos Consultant(s) (CAC) Or Certified Site Surveillance Technician(s) (CSST) working under Lead: - California Department of Public Health (CDPH) - CDPH Certified Lead Inspector/ Risk Assessor General Hazardous Waste - Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (“HAZWOPER”) certification.
