The project will provide a 1.6-mile trail that begins at the intersection of Lake Avenue/High Rock Avenue and ends at the existing trail terminus on Excelsior Avenue. The project will construct a 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the north side of the roadways. It will also reconstruct the High Rock Avenue/Excelsior Avenue/Warren Street intersection so that both Warren Street and the High Rock Avenue spur intersection the mainline at ninety-degree angles and are stop controlled. The mainline will operate under a free-flow condition. As a result of the trail/intersection construction there will be improvements to storm drainage, the Excelsior Avenue/East Avenue signal, roadway striping and landscaping. The project will also construct segments of sidewalk to connect the existing network located primarily on the south side of the roadways. Miscellaneous appearances such as benches, wayfinding signage, bike racks will be installed to support the trail. DBE goal is 7%.
