Lobby of the Carteret Community College Civic Center at 3505 Arendell Street, Morehead City, North Carolina
Removal of approximately 670 linear feet of existing construction debris riprap. Saw-cutting and removing approximately 350 linear feet of concrete fiberform shoreline protection. Removal of approximately 1,290 square feet of concrete pad. Construction of three (3) timber piers: o Pier 1 Approximately 34 linear feet constructed above mean high water. o Pier 2 Approximately 158 linear feet, a 6’ x 40’ finger pier with 5’ x 25’ aluminum gangway and 4’ x 20’ low profile kayak dock. o Pier 3 Approximately 76 linear feet. Installation of approximately 515 linear feet of filter stone with filter fabric between the existing retaining wall and concrete fiberform shoreline protection. Construction of approximately 269 linear feet of vinyl sheetpile retaining wall with concrete cap to extend existing retaining wall. Rehabilitation of two (2) existing stormwater outfalls. Construction of approximately 602 linear feet of vinyl sheetpile cutoff wall with concrete cap. Installation of approximately 670 linear feet of graded riprap shoreline protection with filter fabric. Alternate Bid Work consists of the following: In lieu of installation of the vinyl sheetpile cutoff wall and graded riprap shoreline protection on the east and west ends of the project, installation of approximately 670 linear feet of articulated concrete block armor units shoreline protection with soil fill and sod. The center vinyl sheetpile cutoff wall will still be constructed. Installation of approximately 1,400 linear feetof riprap marsh sills with class B timber warning posts at 50’ on center. Installation of approximately 33,400 square feet of backfill between the marsh sill and shoreline protection with spartina alterniflora planted at 1’ on center grid pattern. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
