GDOT District 7 is seeking bids to repair a failed stormwater system working in conjunction with an underground detention vault adjacent to I-75 northbound mainline and the off-ramp to Northside Drive in Fulton County, Georgia. Contract consist of the excavation/removal of approximately 150’ of Damaged 18” RCP pipe directly adjacent to the downstream connecting brick drop inlet. The 18” RCP is roughly 17’ down from the top of the brick drop inlet, where the failure has occurred. The exact length of compromised pipe is unknown currently due to the collapse. Reinstall new RCP to existing GDOT standards and attach to the prexisting brick inlet using standards 9031U. Backfill and re-establish positive drainage of the area. All necessary excavation shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall adhere to Section 207(Excavation Backfill for Minor Structures) of the Standard Specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for hauling away and disposing of all damaged material and waste. The Contractor shall be reasonable for placement, installation, maintenance, inspection and removal of any necessary erosion control devices as per Section 160, 163, and 170 of the Standard Specifications. The Contractor shall perform all construction in a manner to ensure positive drainage upon completion. The contractor shall be responsible for cleaning of all pipes associated to repair after completion to ensure positive drainage through the system. Pre-qualified contractors only.
