Project includes:  the design and construction of a new residence hall wing addition onto the Kahlert Village, as well as site improvements, and associated parking.   Kahlert Village provides community and support to first year students on the University of Utah campus. Research has shown that housing first year students leads to higher graduation rates. Phase I opened in the Fall of 2020 with 992 beds in 26 residential communities. The residence hall is in high demand. The 4th wing of Kahlert Village is expected to open at 100% capacity, with an anticipated student move in of Fall 2023.  The new wing will take advantage of existing building amenities and support spaces, making the additional wing an efficient space use ratio as compared to a standalone student housing building.  The preconstruction services fee will be authorized through a professional services agreement issued by DFCM.  Any design assist subcontractor preconstruction fees will be carried within this contract and no fees beyond the liability insurance will be allowed.  This professional services agreement can be found on the DFCM website - DFCM Standard Construction Documents.  These fees will all be considered as part of the total FLCC.

Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
