Whittier Greenway Trail East Extension Gap Closure Project Whittier,CA

The Whittier Greenway Trail East Extension Gap Closure Project (WGTE) will construct a pedestrian/bicycle trail approximately 2.8 mile in length on a City owned 15 foot easement on Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) property adjacent to an active rail line. The project will include AC pavement, wire-mesh fencing, two prefabricated bridges, irrigation, planting, soil remediation, and decorative concrete work. The WGTE project is an Active Transportation Project (ATP) and is funded by Federal, State, and Local funds. The Lambert Road Traffic Signal Synchronization Project (TSSP) will upgrade fourteen (14) intersections on Lambert Road from Washington Boulevard to Grayling Avenue/Sugargrove Drive. The TSSP project will include installation of new traffic signal poles and signing and striping. Two intersections are located outside of the city’s jurisdiction and will require coordination with LA County Public Works. The TSSP project and the WGTE project share seven (7) intersection/crossing configurations, in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the City of Whittier, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2015 Edition. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, appliances, and equipment to complete the project and be responsible for obtaining a no fee excavation permit(s) for the project from the City of Whittier, Public Works Department.
