Napa County Department of Public Works requests proposals from qualified professional firms to provide environmental services and as needed other services, which may include but are not limited to civil engineering, traffic, biological, and cultural resources services. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, preparation of an Archaeological Survey Report (ASR), Historic Property Survey Report (HPSR), Local Historic Records Search, and other related services as required for this federally funded project. Napa County was awarded the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Cycle 11 grant to upgrade outdated guardrail segments in Napa County. The objective of this project is to significantly reduce fatalities and serious injuries on public roads through use of guardrail as a safety barrier for vehicles and bicyclists. The objective of this project is to significantly reduce fatalities and serious injuries on public roads through use of guardrail as a safety barrier for vehicles and bicyclists. The HSIP Cycle 11 Guardrail project will upgrade about 1.1± miles of guardrail and their end treatments, along local arterial roads at the following locations: • Silverado Trail (near Sage Canyon Road) • Silverado Trail (near Pickett Road) • Deer Park Road • Howell Mountain Road • Petrified Forest Road • Tubbs Lane The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has provided Napa County with Authorization to Proceed (E-76) with the preliminary engineering phase of the Guardrail and End Treatment Upgrades Project, HSIPL-5921(089). The project Preliminary Environmental Study (PES) Form has been signed by Caltrans Cultural Resources Professionally Qualified Staff and Caltrans has completed environmental scoping.
