The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County is soliciting sealed bids for the following project: Security Vestibule at Severna Park Elementary School. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Work includes the implementation of security improvement measures at Severna Park Elementary School, which require the relocation of the administrative offices to be immediately adjacent to the new secure vestibule. Renovations include the installation of doors, storefront entry systems, and access control measures at the existing school entrances to provide a check-in/screening vestibule. Existing aluminum and hollow metal framing systems will be retrofitted to receive security glazing and laminated glazing. Work includes architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines. The GC shall provide for maintaining egress from the existing school while the building is occupied. 2. A construction barrier must be in place to protect school occupants from construction activities during times of occupancy. A temporary egress door with sidewalks will be required for egress purposes during construction. MBE goal 15%. Bonds required.
