Oleander Avenue Mini Park is in the Riverside Park Neighborhood. The park is nestled between the condo building and single-family home. Currently, the park is underutilized with a narrow sidewalk that leads to the St Lucie River. The schematic design was completed in 2023. The park improvements will include irrigation, paved sidewalks, shade trees, benches, decorative fence, and new park signage. The proposed design will improve user experience, comfort, and safety. The improvements will be completed in conjunction with the streetscape improvements in the Riverside Neighborhood. The improvements include sidewalks, on-street parking, high visibility crosswalks, streetlights, and landscaping. The project is bounded by NW Fern Street on the south, SE Dixie Highway on the east, North Fork of St Lucie River on the west and NW Palm Street on the north and is near Downtown Stuart. The City/CRA has been approved for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant for this project in the amount of $1,523,489. In 2023, the CRA met all the FDOT TAP requirements for project submittal. The project will be advertised for bid in April and award construction contract to a contractor in May/June. The construction is anticipated to begin in August 2024. Oleander Avenue Mini Park is located within the Riverside Park Neighborhood, so improvements will be completed in conjunction with the larger scale improvement.
