The below-grade truck loading ramp (also known as the tunnel) in the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Managements Northeast Transfer Station experiences severe flooding during intense rainfall events. The purpose of this project is to alleviate flooding in the transfer tunnel by raising the elevation of the barrier walls on the north side of the tunnel and elevating the roadway at the northern entrance. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and tools necessary for the proper execution, testing, and completion of the Work under this Contract. The scope includes, but is not limited to: 1) Elevation of the transfer tunnel entrances to prevent stormwater inflow during flooding. 2) Elevation of the north retaining wall to prevent stormwater inflow during flooding. 3) Re-plumbing of the interior stormwater drains into the leachate drain to improve drainage within the transfer tunnel. 4) Replacement of the leachate drain cover and two interior stormwater drain covers. 5) Abandonment of the two outer stormwater drains and the stormwater pump wet well. 6) Cleanout of the leachate drain and installation of a debris screen on the drain manhole. 7) Replacement of the transfer pumps and elevation of the control panel. 8) Replace curb sections with holes deeper than 2 inches; otherwise prep and patch holes. 9) Topping of the transfer pad. 10) Repair of any exposed rebar. 11) Repair of cracks in the retaining wall. 12) Regrading of the area to the southeast of the tunnel.

The City of Miami Beach currently has a contract for elevator maintenance and repairs, but it does not cover replacement or modernization services. As a result, this contract aims to establish a pool of prequalified certified elevator contractors capable of delivering elevator cab replacement and modernization services. The scope of work for elevator replacement or modernization may include the removal and disposal of outdated elevator components, installation of new or upgraded equipment such as traction machines, controllers, door operators, and safety systems, and ensuring compliance with current building codes and ADA requirements. Work may also involve electrical and mechanical upgrades, structural modifications as needed, and integration with building systems. Testing, inspection, and certification will be conducted to ensure performance, reliability, and safety. On October 21, 2020, the City issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2021-012-WG. The purpose of the ITB was to establish a contract, by means of sealed applications, with qualified contractors to establish a prequalified pool of contractors to perform routine and emergency repairs to water, sewer, and stormwater systems on short notice on an as needed basis. The current term of the contract was for a period of five (5) years and is scheduled to expire on February 9, 2026. For the past 4 years, the City spent an average of $712,327.14 annually for these services. The purpose of this solicitation is to establish replacement contract(s) and maintain an eligible prequalified pool. The prospecitive bidder shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, rental of equipment and supplies necessary for services including but not limited to routine improvements and emergency repairs to the Citys water, sanitary sewer, and storm water systems, including but not limited to: pump stations; potable water pipes, sanitary sewer main/lateral pipes and valves, storm water drainage pipes; trenchless point repairs; rehabilitation of sanitary sewer and storm water manholes.
