ICES Tunnel Repair and Renewal, Minneapolis, MN

The ICES Tunnel at the University of Minnesota is approximately 2,900 feet long, and contains steam pipe lines, coal conveyor, electric power lines, steel support structure, fire sprinkler lines, and abandoned electric power lines. Work will include: removal of existing roof and water control materials; placement of new rockbolts, shotcrete, and drainage material in specific locations; temporary removal of existing elements to make room for the new materials, and removal of existing abandoned electrical conduit.
