FFSL seeks a qualified third-party contractor to assist in streambank restoration efforts on the Lower Bear River. The restoration plan will consist of three phases: (1) assessing baseline conditions of the river, (2) creating an action plan to establish and implement best management practices and (3) implementing pilot or high priority projects. The contractor should be able to demonstrate relevant past experience and abilities to perform these tasks, or manage these projects by way of a contractor, for each phase of the project. This project is to be a partnership between FFSL and the contractor, with regular check-ins and completing the assessment and on-the-ground work together. Each phase of the project should include FFSL staff in the analysis and implementation of the project. While FFSL staff has significant experience managing these types of projects, FFSL is eager to continue building our skill set internally. The contractor should educate and mentor FFSL staff on each of the three phases when it is feasible, helping to provide them with tools they may use to identify the need for, and implement, river restoration projects across the state of Utah in the future.
