Amherst County is accepting bids for construction of an ADA ramp at the restrooms at Thrashers Lake Park. Thrashers Lake Park is located at 223 Thrashers Lake Road, Amherst, VA 24521. A concrete ramp shall extend from the far end of the restroom to the parking lot. The sidewalk shall be six (6) feet wide & four (4) inches thick. Control joints shall be cut into the sidewalk every five (5) feet. The sidewalk shall have a minimum of four (4) inches of 21A gravel under the concrete walkway and a 6 x 6 mesh for reinforcement. The concrete shall be a minimum of 3,000 psi and meet ACI standards for exterior slabs and ramps.
