The County of Amador is seeking sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, tax, bonds, insurance, permits, premiums, shipping, transportation, services, disposal, equipment, materials, and appurtenant facilities for qualified contractors to provide Tree Mitigation services in the project area delineated in Exhibit A (maps 1 through 16). The services requested will include all operations related to the safe, legal, efficient cutting of dead and/or dying trees and treatment of associated slash and debris that pose a hazard to County roads. Please note that this project is entirely on land managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Oversight and contractual responsibilities on the project will be shared between the County and the U.S. Forest Service. The County is requesting bids for two methods of tree disposal: 1) Base Bid: fell and cut trees in prescribed lengths and transport to a designated landing and decking the trees for subsequent sale by the Forest Service, or alternatively, 2) Alternate Bid: fell and cut trees and removal of trees by the Contractor and transporting them to a site or sites as chosen by the Contractor for disposal. The purpose for requesting two bids is to allow comparison of the cost for the two approaches. Ultimately, it is anticipated the Base Bid scope of work will be required. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
