The Base Bid includes demolition of existing park facilities and the former streets along E. 9th Street and E. 10th Street between Orange Avenue and Maple Avenue. The Base Bid additionally includes grading and construction of stormwater features within the entire park site bounded by the southern edge of E. 11th Street to the park’s southern boundary and between Orange Avenue and Maple Avenue. Park improvements included in the Base Bid are shown in the Base Bid Area of the Plans and include installation of new headwalls and culverts for the flood basin on the northern area of the park; construction of a new multi-level playground with premanufactured towers, swings, slides, a zip line, and modular tunnel, as well as shade structures and seating; construction of a new splash pad; construction of a combined restroom and pump station building with electrical, water, and sewer connections; construction of new pathways with picnic areas and seating spaces; installation of pedestrian lighting along pathways and in key use areas in the Base Bid area; installation of a new irrigation system and providing irrigation to the planting within the Base Bid area; planting new trees, turf grass, and shrubs through the Base Bid Area; and reconfiguration of the western side of Maple Avenue to provide street parking along the park. The Base Bid includes coordination with a premanufactured building provider to obtain final building plans and foundation details for the restroom and pump station building. The contractor shall obtain a no-fee building permit for these plans prior to construction. Following approval, the contractor shall construction the foundation and coordinate shipping and installation of premanufactured structure. Alternate Bid 1 includes additional park improvements including the construction of a second playground with premanufactured synthetic boulder and rope climbing structures and integrated shade; construction of concrete slab with court surfacing, basketball posts and nets, and removeable pickleball posts; construction of 4-foot tall stage floor with stairs, accessible ramp, stage roof structure shade structure, and electrical supply for stage lighting and power; construction of two picnic shelter with concrete slab floors, picnic tables, and a shade structure; construction of additional pathways and seating areas within the southern part of the park, expansion of the irrigation system to provide irrigation to the planting outside of the the Base Bid area; planting new trees, turf grass, and shrubs outside the Base Bid Area; expansion of pedestrian lighting along pathways and in key use areas outside of the Base Bid Area. Alternate Bid 1 also includes reconfiguration of the eastern side of Orange Avenue to provide street parking along the park. Alternate Bid 1 includes coordination with a premanufactured building provider to obtain final building plans and foundation details for the picnic shelters and stage shade structure. The contractor shall obtain a no-fee building permit for these plans prior to construction. Following approval, the contractor shall coordinate shipping and installation of premanufactured structures, foundations, and slabs. Alternate Bid 2 includes hydroseeding in the area where Alternate 1 site improvements are located in the event that Alternate 1 is not selected. Alternate Bid 3 includes improvements to the existing skate park utilizing premanufactured concrete skate ramps and features. Alternate Bid 3 includes coordination with the manufacturer for fabrication, shipping, and installation instructions. The City shall inspect installation for consistency with the manufacturer’s direction. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
