The first order of work shall include the following: Place the order for the electrical equipment and poles for pedestrian activated signals. The Engineer shall be furnished a statement from the vendor that the order for the electrical equipment has been received and accepted by the vendor. The Contractor shall prepare a Traffic Control Plan and obtain approval prior to any work commencing on the project in accordance with Section 12 “Temporary Traffic Control” of the technical specifications. The Contractor shall confirm the location of all underground utilities within the project limits. Contractor’s attention is directed to the existing steel encased water and sewer utilities running transverse beneath SR-126 near “A” 1221+75 that will be in close proximity to the proposed storm drain pipe. Contractor shall protect these existing utilities in place by physically confirming the location of the utilities and providing the locations to the Engineer to confirm there are no unanticipated conflicts with the proposed storm drain pipe. Contractor shall provide the locations to the Engineer at least 6 weeks in advance of the storm drain work commencing to allow for any adjustments to be made, if necessary. Contractor shall also carefully excavate around these utilities to avoid damage to them. The uppermost layer of new pavement shall not be placed until all underlying conduits and loop detectors have been installed. Prior to commencement of the traffic signal functional test at any location, all items of work related to signal control shall be completed and all roadside signs, pavement delineation, and pavement markings shall be in place at that location. Existing culverts beneath SR-126 shall be cleaned out as necessary to facilitate drainage flows. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
