The proposed project consists of the replacement of two structures on I-72 over I-57. This work will be completed utilizing crossovers on FAI 72. The westbound structure will be completed first with the eastbound structure to follow. The proposed work includes the construction of the crossovers, the removal and replacement of the existing I-72 bridges, Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) resurfacing, shoulder and ramp improvements, guardrail removal and replacement, sign trusses and light pole removal and replacement, earthwork, erosion control, pavement markings, traffic control and protection and various other items required to complete the planned improvements. Appropriate traffic control with the applicable Highway Standards for any remaining incidental work, until construction is complete. The Contractor shall utilize methods necessary to protect and preserve the surrounding environment and properties during construction of this project. Project labor agreement. DBE goal 5%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
