Bidders must be prequalified with NCDOT. The proposed project includes the construction of a 75’ beacon tower with an LED rotating beacon and obstruction light. The beacon tower will replace the existing beacon, which is shorter and difficult to identify by pilots. The beacon tower will be installed 35’ from the existing location. The overall scope of work for the project includes existing beacon tower demolition, foundation installation, seeding, new beacon tower installation, seeding, and mulching. Contractors must be listed on the NCDOT Prequalified list as a bidder or Prime to bid on this project. • Contractors, including subcontractors, must have a NC Contracting License pertaining to their discipline of work. • Contractors, including subcontractors, must be prequalified by the NCDOT to perform the work pertaining to their specific scope of work in the contract. The prime contractor for the project must be prequalified by the NCDOT as a prime. • Work codes for this project include, but are not limited to: 000801 CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING, 001660 SEEDING AND MULCHING, 008060 AIRFIELD LIGHTING, SIGNAGE AND NAVIATION AIDS. • Work code 00099 OTHER will not be accepted unless otherwise approved by the NCDOT or NCDOA that the work associated with that work code description for the contractor matches the work for the project.
