The Street Transportation Department (Streets) inspects eight earthen dams in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve annually for the Parks and Recreation Department. Streets previously did an evaluation of the Papago dams for the Parks Department in or around 2009. Subsequent site visits demonstrate that conditions currently existing have not been addressed since that inspection. A site visit in 2022 was conducted to log the current condition of the dams, however much of the structures were not directly observable due to the variety of vegetation overgrowth and numerous undocumented alterations to the dams and the reservoirs that have occurred over the last 90 years. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
