Engineering Services for Freedom Industries Sewer Line Expansion Project, Nashville, NC

Nash County has entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Nashville and City of Rocky Mount to extend sewer service utilizing Industrial Development Funds from the NC Department of Commerce. Freedom Industries, Inc., has contracted to purchase additional land adjacent to their current facility located at 4000 E. Old Spring Hope Rd. The property currently is located within the City of Rocky Mount Utility Service area, but within a Nash County zoning jurisdiction. The Town of Nashville has sewer service in close proximity to the property and has agreed to extend the line to provide public sewer to the property. This will be a public Town of Nashville sewer line. Although additional elements may be identified as work to finalize the project elements commence, known elements of the overall project include the following major components: 1) Approximately 1,000 linear feet SDR 35 PVC Gravity Sewer 2) Approximately 200 linear feet DIP Gravity Sewer 3) Approximately 5 4 Diameter Manholes 4) Approximately 60 linear feet of 16 Dry Bore and Jack The County does not have engineering staff necessary for the proposed activities. The County is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide engineering services for the preliminary design, final design, construction administration, and construction observation to complete these projects.
