The upgrades to the existing Well 4 facility, which discharges ground water into the Peck Reservoir, includes the demolition and removal of the existing well pump building and foundation, field instruments, electrical, well tubing and wellhead piping. Removal of the existing leased well pump and appurtenances, motor and VFD are to be salvaged for the leasing firm who owns this equipment to pickup and remove these items from the site. Upgrades include a new 75 Hp well pump, tubing, well-head and modifications to be performed by a specialized well reconditioning firm performing as a subcontractor to the general contractor. Other work includes a new building, concrete foundation and slab, discharge steel fusion bonded epoxy lined pipe ranging in size between 6 and 12 in diameter, hydraulically controlled pressure sustaining valve with a flow metering and monitoring system, centrifugal liquid-solids separator, valves, field instruments & appurtenances, 480VAC electrical gear and pump VFD. PLCs and related programming are to be performed by the Citys controls configuration firm separate from the general contractors work. Demolition of the Well 4 chlorine building is an optional scope item which can be authorized by the City during the duration of the work.

The scope of work includes but is not limited to; installation of a 1.35-mile pedestrian and cycling trail along the Herndon Canal as part of a 7.1-mile network of trails known as the Metropolitan Trails System or Metro Trails. This trail will be constructed along the Herndon Canal from Shields Avenue and First Street to McKinley Avenue and Millbrook Avenue and will ultimately connect four additional trail segments. This will create a major trail loop in the central part of our community. This project will include minor roadway and crossing improvements, installation of a City-furnished prefabricated pedestrian bridge, ADA ramp upgrades, installation of amenities such as benches, trail lighting, drinking fountains, bicycle racks, dog waste station, signage, striping, landscaping, and irrigation. Coordination with the City of Fresno, the Fresno Irrigation District, County of Fresno, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and PG&E will be required

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. Scope: The design for the UPRR Window improvement is intended to provide flood risk reduction and should consider the following: Develop an above ground closure structure to maintain a consistent Top of Levee (TOL) elevation and reduce the risk of over-topping. The closure structure must be easily deployable by the reclamation district and UPRR personnel. Identify if other features required to mitigate other credible failure modes such as berms, cutoff walls, or erosion protection along the waterside levee slope. Coordinate with the USACE C1S Design, to every extent possible, including any utility relocations and locations of berms or levees.
