Well 4 Upgrades, Huntington Beach, CA

The upgrades to the existing Well 4 facility, which discharges ground water into the Peck Reservoir, includes the demolition and removal of the existing well pump building and foundation, field instruments, electrical, well tubing and wellhead piping. Removal of the existing leased well pump and appurtenances, motor and VFD are to be salvaged for the leasing firm who owns this equipment to pickup and remove these items from the site. Upgrades include a new 75 Hp well pump, tubing, well-head and modifications to be performed by a specialized well reconditioning firm performing as a subcontractor to the general contractor. Other work includes a new building, concrete foundation and slab, discharge steel fusion bonded epoxy lined pipe ranging in size between 6 and 12 in diameter, hydraulically controlled pressure sustaining valve with a flow metering and monitoring system, centrifugal liquid-solids separator, valves, field instruments & appurtenances, 480VAC electrical gear and pump VFD. PLCs and related programming are to be performed by the Citys controls configuration firm separate from the general contractors work. Demolition of the Well 4 chlorine building is an optional scope item which can be authorized by the City during the duration of the work.
